Ideally Located for Skiing at Branäs & Långberget
Wärdshuset Klarälvdalen (The Klarälven Inn) is a practical base for your winter stay. We are located a 10-minute drive from Branäs, one of Sweden’s major family ski resorts. For cross-country skiing, the official Vasaloppet Center at Långberget is 20 minutes away, offering 63 km of prepared trails and a dedicated practice track.
In addition to skiing, the area around Sysslebäck offers various winter activities. Depending on the conditions, you can go dog sledding, snowmobile touring, ice fishing, or explore the forest on snowshoes. Our location in the Klarälven valley provides a reliable landscape for all types of winter experiences.

Outside the winter season, the landscape around Sysslebäck offers various opportunities for outdoor activities. From the Klarälven river to the Finnskogen forests, the area is well-suited for canoeing, fishing, and hiking.
A unique activity in our region is timber rafting on the Klarälven. You can build your own log raft and drift down the river, following a historic tradition from the timber floating era.
All year round, our B&B serves as a quiet base in North Värmland. It is a practical starting point for exploring the Swedish countryside at your own pace.

Central Ski Base in North Värmland: Near Branäs, Långberget & Trysil
Many guests choose Wärdshuset Klarälvdalen as a central base for their winter holiday. While Branäs and Långberget are just a short drive away, our location in Sysslebäck also allows you to explore other major ski areas within a 1.5-hour radius, such as Trysil (Norway), Sälen, Kläppen, and Stöten.
In addition to being a versatile base, we serve as a convenient stopover along Route 62. We offer a restful break for travelers heading further into the mountains of North Värmland and beyond.
After a quiet night’s sleep and a homemade breakfast, you can continue your journey well-rested. For those traveling towards Åre, Idre Fjäll, or Vemdalen, our B&B provides a practical halfway point to break up the long drive through Scandinavia.

For years, we shared a dream of starting a business abroad. Our search for a place where nature and hospitality meet eventually led us to the Klarälven valley in North Värmland.
In Sysslebäck, we found more than just a business; we found a home. We fell in love with the vast forests and the peaceful pace of life in the Swedish countryside. Today, we—Karin and Peter—are proud to run Wärdshuset Klarälvdalen.
